Be Prepared
Bring everything you need to make you comfortable while remembering that you live in your head, this isn’t a materialist culture, far from it. Joy comes from people, not things.
Or more explicitly...
For your room you may need a fan but not a heater as all St Ann's rooms have a heater or reverse cycle air conditioner. Each room has a desk with a lamp and ergonomic chair. All the desks are large enough to fit a computer.
A pin-up board is provided in your room. It may be useful to bring pins to hang your notices, calendars etc. Posters and pictures for the walls are also welcome provided that the adhesive on the back does not damage the wall as damage may incur a fee. Ornaments or objects to brighten your room are also a good idea. You must provide your own mattress cover, sheets, quilts and pillows, coat hangers and towels. You also need to supply your own washing powder and pegs for your laundry.
All general furniture is provided including curtains, bookcases, cupboards and several drawers. Every room is equipped with a lockable cupboard to store your valuables when you are away.
You may also like to bring your own small television however keep in mind that St Ann's has several TV rooms available 24 hours a day. You may also bring a stereo and alarm clock or any other small electrical device providing it doesn't consume great amounts of energy.
Unfortunately St Ann’s does not allow any animals to be kept on the premises so you will have to leave all pets at home. |
